Eastern Upper Peninsula Transportation Authority

The Sugar Island Ferry Captain is currently working on getting everyone to and from the Island safely. Once caught up, the boat will be leaving the Island on the hour and the main land at a quarter after the hour for the remainder of the night.

Established in 1975 our company operates three local vehicle and passenger ferries to the nearby islands of Sugar, Neebish and Drummond and we also operate a rural public bussing system with scheduled runs to and from Sault Ste. Marie to local areas such as Kincheloe, DeTour, Rudyard and a few others. In Luce County EUPTA operates Dial-a-Ride services with an on demand response pick up.

Click here for current Ferry Schedules  We continue to follow the guidance and recommendations of the MDHHS in regards to Covid19.  We expect everyone to practice safe distancing, cover their coughs, wash your hands, and sanitize.   The use of the passenger cabin is at your own risk.

The Rudyard and DeTour run is cancelled until further notice. We expect everyone to practice safe distancing, cover their coughs, wash your hands, sanitize, and sit every other seat on the bus.  All passengers medically able to tolerate a covering over their mouth and nose will be asked to do so while on-board the transit vehicle. Face mask coverings continue to be required per federal and state regulations on transit busses. Please do not sit near our drivers, so we can keep them healthy and driving.  The EUPTA Board and entire Employment Team appreciates your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the EUPTA Office @ 906-632-2898.
